Five Elements of Health

Wood, fire, earth, metal, and water are the five elements of nature that correspond to the body’s internal organs and to the four seasons. By coordinating lifestyle and diet with how the elements affect the body’s energy in their seasonal cycles, people can boost their immune systems and protect themselves from disease. This class teaches the theory behind regulating one’s physical and spiritual wellbeing using the Chinese medicine meridian system. Through guided practice, guests can improve their health and achieve balanced wellness.

Shaolin Ba Duanjin Qigong

Class Length: 2 hours

Instructor: Shi Hengyang

Master Shi Hengyang is the direct disciple of the illustrious Shi Yanwu, one of the greatest warrior monks in China. Under his guidance, students will learn the basic postures and movements of Shaolin Baduanjin Qigong, one of the oldest and most prevalent Shaolin training systems. Baduanjin Qigong relaxes the muscles, improves circulation, and balances the body’s energy, thus enhancing one’s overall health and metabolism.

Hatha Yoga

Class Length: 1 hours

Hatha yoga is the simple practice of ancient poses to improve one’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual state. Students will be taken through a series of asanas (poses that correct the body’s posture and muscle movement), pranayama techniques (breathing exercises), and meditation exercises to help unify the body and mind.

Tao Te Ching Study

Chinese Traditional Folk Songs and Dances

Tai Chi

Tai Chi is a Taoist practice that focuses on both defense training and enhancing physical health. This class will explore Tai Chi theory and basic techniques. The mountains and forests nearby are the perfect environment to practice and to find inner peace.

Perfume Sachet Making Class

Class Length: 1 hours

Make Xiangnang, or perfume sachets filled with aromatic herbs. This centuries old tradition continues today in Chinese culture.

Dumpling Class

Class Length: 1 hours

Instructor: Xing Yun

Chinese food culture has a long history with dumplings dating back to the Han Dynasty 1,800 years ago. The chef will guide students in understanding the relationships between traditional food and Chinese culture. Students will learn to make delicious dumplings in this course.
